Nestled in Ethiopia’s Jimma Zone (Oromia Region), Limmu Kossa Estate is a family-owned farm producing exceptional coffee across 356 hectares of rich, forested land. Since its founding in 2000, the estate has become a model for sustainable farming — employing around 700 people during harvest and embracing agroforestry techniques that preserve indigenous tree species and enhance biodiversity.
Their commitment to environmentally responsible practices goes hand-in-hand with their care for community: Limmu Kossa has built an 8km dry-season road to improve access and constructed classrooms to support local education — a powerful example of coffee as a force for good.
In the cup, Limmu Kossa offers a dynamic profile that adapts beautifully across roast levels. In darker roasts, it develops a syrupy texture with notes of bittersweet chocolate, orange peel, bergamot tea, and brown sugar. This exceptional coffee shines as a bright and floral drip or as a layered and syrupy sweet single-origin espresso — complex, comforting, and deeply memorable.
This coffee also contributes to a Farmer Impact Fund — a program designed to deliver direct financial support to producers. These one-time payments are used at the discretion of farmers for meaningful community or farm improvements, from education and infrastructure to equipment and soil health.
By choosing this coffee, you're investing not only in quality and sustainability — but also in the people and communities who make it possible.
